“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week’s book:
Book Title: The Leaving
Author: Tara Altebrando
Series: Standalone
Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Childrens
Publication Date: June 7th 2016
Genres: Mystery, Contemporary, Thriller, Fiction, YA
Age Range: 13-17 years old
Six were taken. Eleven years later, five come back–with no idea of where they’ve been.
Eleven years ago, six kindergarteners went missing without a trace. After all that time, the people left behind moved on, or tried to.
Until today. Today five of those kids return. They’re sixteen, and they are . . . fine. Scarlett comes home and finds a mom she barely recognizes, and doesn’t really recognize the person she’s supposed to be, either. But she thinks she remembers Lucas. Lucas remembers Scarlett, too, except they’re entirely unable to recall where they’ve been or what happened to them. Neither of them remember the sixth victim, Max. He doesn’t come back. Everyone wants answers. Most of all Max’s sister Avery, who needs to find her brother–dead or alive–and isn’t buying this whole memory-loss story.
I cannot contain myself. I must get a copy of this as soon as possible. It just sounds so good!

Hmm…I’m not usually a sucker for thrillers but this one sounds especially good! Reminds me a bit of the tv show The 4400. Great pick!

Yikes! This one sounds a little bit too scary for me. The plot does sound really interesting and I am curious about what happened when they were 5. I hope that you enjoy it. 🙂
