A Very Late JULY 2020 & TOTALLY SPIESATHON WRAP-UP

Hello friends! Another month has ended at the blink of an eye, and before we know it, it’s the time again for another wrap-up. When compared to the month before, I was evidently less productive in July. I fell into a huge reading slump right from at the beginning of the month so that wasn’t a great start. I also participated in the month-long Totally Spiesathon which I think pushed me to read more than I would have. So I managed to read 7 books in July so I’m pretty happy with that.

Soooo without further ado, here’s a more detailed recap of what I’ve been up to last July!

BOOKS READ

From the 12 books I’ve read last June, the number has been reduced to only 7 this July. I’m not complaining though, so don’t get me wrong. Considering my reading slump, 7 books are a lot!

Legend:
📖 – physical copy
📱 – digital copy
🎧 – audiobook

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo – 📱 // 5 stars // no review yet

Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales – 🎧 // 5 stars // no review yet

The Wysman by Dorothy A. Winsor – 📱 // 2 stars // no review

Archibald Lox and the Vote of Alignment by Darren Shan – 📱 // 3 stars // review

Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon – 📱 // 4 stars // no review yet

Brother’s Keeper by Julie Lee – 📱 // stars // no review yet

More Than Just a Pretty Face by Syed M. Masood – 📱 // 4 stars // review

Looks like I had a generally good reading month, in terms of star ratings! Although I need to work on reading more physical copies and reducing the number of unread books on my shelf here at home. On the other hand, I’m happy that I read at least one audiobook since I’ve been trying to get into it now. Scribd is a great app I use for audiobooks and eBooks alike, as they have a great selection of titles! If you want to try out Scribd, you can get your first 60 days for free if you use my link upon registration, and at the same time you’d be giving me a great gift of a month of free reading as well!

BOOKS BOUGHT

EVERYONE, let’s take a moment of silence to appreciate the fact that I have 0 book purchases for the month of July. At least that’s what I recall. So unless I somehow forgot I spent $$$ on books the past month, please give me a pat on the head for a job well done hehe 😊

TOTALLY SPIESATHON WRAP-UP

Hypelane Clothing Co. (3)

Growing up, I was absolutely in love with the show Totally Spies. I remember always looking forward to watching it on our television so I jumped at the chance to join the readathon inspired by it! Again, I’m not the best at keeping up with readathons but I’m really proud of how I did here.

This is hosted by the wonderful Noura @ The Perks of Being Noura and you can read more about the mechanics of the readathon here. I did a Twitter reading thread for this as well, so you can check out my progress as a Team Clover here:

Having a huge reading slump from the start surprisingly didn’t hinder my progress as I have accomplished both round 1 and 2, my total books read being 5:

I planned to read one more book but my other plans came in the way and I was not in the mood to anyway.

OTHER THINGS TO SMILE ABOUT A.K.A. ATEEZ

Surprise, I’m a K-pop stan! Well, not fully yet because I’ve been too focused on a single boy group for the past month. If you aren’t aware, I have been addicted to ATEEZ ever since I got introduced to them. They’re an eight-member rookie group (at least until October, by then they’d be 2 years old already yay!) and they’re honestly so talented. The first thing that drew me in was their strong stage presence! Those who watched any ATEEZ videos can attest to how much connection they have with their audience when performing. Not to mention, all of their songs are literal bops! Special mention to Clo for screaming with me and letting me gush in her messages! I’ll leave some of my favorite ATEEZ performances here for you to watch, if you’re interested!

ATEEZ recently just made a comeback as well, with their album ZERO: FEVER Part 1! And I fell in love with them all over again. I’ve been Here are the performance videos for their two title tracks:
