Love is for losers.

Jack doesn’t care about anything except music. All she wants to do is find a decent gig, stand by the speakers and let the bass roll through her. It’s the only reason she gets out of bed.

Until she meets Winta. In the space of a second, everything is different. Winta knows what she wants and for one night, what she wants is Jack. It feels like the start of forever.

Then Winta disappears and Jack faces a choice: should she go back to her life, or track down the only girl who can change it beyond recognition?

One things’ certain: Jack has no idea what she’s getting herself into.

I received an eARC of this book from the author (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinions in any way.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I have no idea how to start this review because my brain refuses to function without having read the first book in this series. But I shall try anyway.

Killian’s Dead is the prequel to Josie Jaffrey’s new urban fantasy series, Seekers. This follows Jack, an 18-year-old music junkie, as she crosses paths with the gorgeous Winta, and they share a wonderful nightwhich might be the beginning of a budding romance. Or at least that’s what Jack thinks. Then things take a shocking turn when Winta suddenly disappears, leaving a wounded Jack behind. She now has to decide whether to forget their one night in paradise or find out what really happened to Winta, unwittingly finding out more than what she’s bargained for.

In the Blue, the world’s last city, all is not well.

Julia is stuck within its walls. She serves the nobility from a distance until she meets Lucas, a boy who believes in fairytales that Julia’s world can’t accommodate. The Blue is her prison, not her castle, and she’d escape into the trees if she didn’t know that contamination and death awaited humanity outside.

But not everyone in the Blue is human, and not everyone can be contained.

Beyond the city’s boundaries, in the wild forests of the Red, Cameron has precious little humanity left to lose. As he searches for a lost queen, he finds an enemy rising that he thought long dead. An enemy that the humans have forgotten how to fight.

One way or another, the walls of the Blue are coming down. The only question is what side you’ll be on when they do.

Seventeen-year-old Seelie Stanton never wanted to kill someone. She never wanted to be invisible in her own family, never wanted to crush on her best friend Alyssa, and she definitely never wanted to know how effectively a mallet could destroy someone’s head.

But the universe doesn’t care what she wants. Shane Mayfield doesn’t care what Seelie wants either. When the former high school basketball star attacks her, she has no choice but to defend herself. She saved her own life, but she can’t bring herself to talk about what happened that night. Not all of it. Not even when she’s arrested for murder.
